At CCA our students surprise us every day with acts of kindness and gratitude for the staff and teachers. From “Ahsante kwa chakula” (thanks for the meal) at lunchtime to our kitchen staff; to parents volunteering during field trips; we are delighted to have a community that supports one another.

A Day in the of Life of a CCA Student
Crown City Academy is located in a quiet community that is minutes away from the seaside community of Fumba Town. Many of our students come from Fumba Town and several other surrounding towns.
Let’s describe a typical day of a CCA Student.
Students either arrive at school via private transportation or the school bus.
8:00-8:30- All students arrive on campus are greeted by teachers and administrators all with happy faces to start the day.
Students play, greetings are shared, and stories are told.
8:30-:45 Students are called to wash hands, drink water, and come to the common area for morning welcome and announcements.
8:45-10:00 We report to our first lesson block. Students use indoor and outdoor spaces for learning.
10:00-11:00 classes have breakfast and recess. Our school breakfast is fabulous. It always includes fruits. It comes with lemongrass tea with cinnamon if students want. Students enjoy choices that include mandazi, crepes, toast, and more. All made on campus. We serve specialty smoothies and juices that are all fresh and natural and 100% fruit. See our lunch menu section for more details. Menus are posted on our school blog and change bi-weekly. Students from different classes assist in serving as part of their community caring requirement.
11:00-12:15 students continue with lessons. Twice a week students take water safety, scuba, snorkeling, and swimming lessons as part of their Cambridge Curriculum P.E. requirement during this time block.
12:15-13:00 students have a much-anticipated lunch that includes a fruit or vegetable choice or both. Students enjoy chicken wraps, spring rolls, and more. See our lunch menu section for more details. Menus are posted on our school blog and change bi-weekly. Students from different classes assist in serving as part of their community caring requirement.
Our students eat in covered outside areas and enjoy the fresh air and nature as they converse with their friends and teachers.
13:00-14:30 students take part in various classes that enrich their learning experience at CCA. We offer STREAM, PHSE/GYM, ART, and MUSIC on alternate school days. During these classes, students are completely engaged in hands-on activities. Whether they are making a microscope in STREAM, role-playing children’s rights skit in PHSE, or making a treasure hunt map in Art; our students enjoy every part of their school day.
14:30 students are dismissed for home. About half of our student body stays for after-school mchanganyiko clubs.
14:40-15:30 students who stay after school participate in clubs such as reading theatre improv club, sensory fitness club, skate club, swimming and so much more.
16:00 students are gone and teachers are heading home.
Tomorrow is a new day!!!
Please note CCA has a school garden that has many fruits. Additionally, we receive a weekly food basket with fresh vegetables and fruits from Msonge Family Organic Farm.
