Dear CCA Community,

Happy New Year!!! We all have another year to be great and put our best foot forward. School starts Monday the 10th January. We are super excited to start. We are welcoming new families and our exisiting families of course. We are also welcoming a new swim teacher, a new bus driver, and primary teacher. We have new programming and a somewhat new class schedule for all classes so that swimming can fit into the school day. We want to thank the new families who participated in the New Student Orientation last week. Something that was discussed during the orientation was a PTO. This has long been an area of interest of ours and the blueprint for such an organization exsists. We will be going back to this in the weeks that follow.

We took your feedback regarding swimming into strong consideration. We have included swimming for all available grade levels on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Classes will take water safety and swimming lessons between the times of 8:45-11:45. Please consult your child’s daily class routine to know which days their class swims. Additionally free swim for after school activities will be held on the same day as the morning swim classes. Please see the dates below in the Upcoming Events section. We have arranged this way so that ALL students can benefit from learning about water saftey and learning swimming techniques without an extra charge. Additionally, students who want to swim again in the afternoon cand do so during after school activities. The fee for after school activities remain at 100.000TSH per term.

15 January- Capoeira Kids Workshop (optional activity)

24 January- After school activities start/ during school swimming lessons start

Lunch Menu

Monday- Break- banana bread, fruit, lemongrass tea; lunch- beans, chapati, vegetable sticks

Tuesday-Break-biscuits, fruit, lemongrass tea with cinnamon; lunch- hot dogs, and fruit salad

Wednesday-Break-mandazi, fruit, lemongrass tea; lunch- pasta and vegetable sticks

Thursday- Break- banana and strawberries split, lemongrass tea with cinnamon; lunch- mixed vegetable rice,

Friday-Break- biscuits, fruit, lemongrass tea; lunch- soft tacos, hard tacos spread.

School Bus Schedule

7:05-Chuqwani

7:20- Town

7:30 Jangombe

7:40 Mombasa

8:15 Fumba

8:35 Arrive at school

Please note that kids picked up between 7:10-7:40 are dropped off at schoo before the bus heads to Fumba Town. We will try out this schedule for the first week of school and see how it works out. If there are major glitches in pick up and arrival, then we will rework the schedule. We will check in with parents and students who take transport to see how the times are working out for them.

Kids who leave on early dismissal leave school at 12:45 and will be accompanied with another teacher as bus monitor
